Nomination deadline is March 10, 2017 (Midnight PST).
The NABJ Special Honors committee solicits nominations of journalism professionals, educators, and students who have distinguished themselves with integrity, courage, innovation, achievement, leadership, and influence on those within the profession.
With the exception of the Lifetime Achievement, Legacy, Percy Qoboza and Journalism Educator of the Year Awards, each nominee’s contributions and deeds should have occurred between January 1, 2016 through December 31, 2016.
The nomination statement should outline the nominee’s qualifications for the award. Incomplete and self-nominations will not be accepted.
Nominators may nominate more than one candidate.
Winners of Lifetime Achievement, Legacy, Emerging Journalist, Percy Qoboza and Journalism Educator of the Year award are not eligible to win the award again. Winners in the remaining categories may win in consecutive or subsequent years.
The Special Honors committee reviews all entries and forwards recommendations to the NABJ Board of Directors, which names the winners.
NABJ reserves the right not to name a winner in any particular category in any given year.
